Guththila Kavyaya was written in the 15th century by Ven. Weththawe Thero a Buddhist monk in Chilaw Sri Lanka. The epic work consists of 511 poems. The poem is based on the Guththila Jathakaya. The work is based on a profound conversation between a teacher and a student named Guththila and Musila respectively. This book is a synopsis of the great Sinhala literary work. Prof. Ven. Agalakada Sirisumana Thero the author is currently working in the Sinhala Department in the University of Colombo Sri Lanka. This synopsis is well written and gives the reader an accurate account of the original work.
